Abstract

Twenty UK laboratories participated in the trial to validate liquid enrichment and membrane filtration procedures prescrihed by the lnternational Standards Organisation for use with potable waters. The results from this trial indicate that the current membrane Jihration method is unreliable for lhe detection of Ps. aeruginosa in natural mineral water d e to unsatisfactory isolation procedures. Modijications to the technique in order to improve recovery are suggested.
