The Microbiological Assay of Vitamin B6 Complex and Inositol
Abstract
The Microbiological Assay of Yitamin Be Complex anil Inositol Dy E. Banton-WnIcnt (Galloway and Barton-lUright, Haldane Place, London, 5.W,18) An improved medium and assay procedue are suggested for detelmilla- tion of vitanin B6 and inositol in animal feeding stuffs. Further experience has shown that the basal medium and procedure described be1ow, using Klaeckera brevis, for the assay of the Vitamin Bu Com- plex, is preferable to that previously proposed by the authorl. This medium also has the advantage that it can be used for the assay of inositol with the same organism by replacement of inositol by pyridoxine. The method should be read in conjunction with the previous account, which also lists component solutions required for the nelv basal medium.
