Mace and nutmeg are the only t\,o rlaterials tested likely to be confused with cannabis. With the widespread increase in the abuse of cannabis, there has beetr a coirespondiirg increase in the frequency and size of illicit samples encountered. Although laboratory methods of detectioll are simple in themselves, none is really suitable for adopticn as a field test by customs or police officers.
