WALKLEY (Consol Fruit Products Limited, Hanworth Road, Sunhur.t on-Thonrcs, Middlesex) Figures reported by Hulme et al.1 provide details of the constituents, phosphorus, potassium and nitrogen in citrus fruits from various parts ol the world. Money’ gives supportit]g flgures to those provided by Hulme, but records that the determination.s of P and K were made on fruit brought to London for analysis. lt is well known that freshly picked oranges rapidly lose moisture, especially in transit over Jong distances. We have compared the flgures obtained by Hulme et al. for orange juice from the Eastern Mediterranean with those lrom three laboratories in lsrael and these are shown in Table I.
