NrcHoLAs (City and County of Bristol, Scientific Adviser’s Deportment, Bristol) The incidence of organo-chlorine insecticides in English and imported fruits and vcgetables, sampled during 1967, is given, together i’irh that oi organo-phosphorus insecticides in selected produce. During 1967 fruits and vegetables were samcled a;rd the oigano-chlorine insecticide content was determined by GLrJ methods as i;r the 1956 surveyl. In addition, during the period May to Seittember, those c;oirs most lil(el) to be treated with organo-phosphorus insecticides were analysed for these compounds by a GLC method. Appo’ratus In addition to the apparatus previously listedl, a gas chromatograph (Varian Aerograph) incorporating a caesium bromide thermionic detector and a modified thermionic detector [caesium bromideialumina (2 : 1)]were used, with hydrogen and air.
