Abstract

Determination ofSoluble, Insoluble and Total Dietary Fibre. Cummings’- Thirty seven laboratories from I 1 courtrres tookpafi in an interlaboratory study to compare the accuracy and precision of the Englyst GLC and colorimetric and Prosky gravimetric methods for detemination of dietary fibre in food. Twelve foods were analysed as duplicates for total dietary fibre (TDF), soluble and insoluble dietary fibre. Whilst all metliods performed reasonably well for both repeatability and reproducibility, systematic differences were seen in lhe results.
