New Food and Drugs Legislation and Proposals for Regulations, etc., during 1968
Abstract
BusuNrrr, (Public Anall-st’s Laboratory, County Hall, Preston) It is unusual to begin this annual review ofthe year’s legislation by drawing attention to a Report, but a Ministry of Housing and Local Government working party Report may prove to be the most important Stationery Office document of the year for Public Analysts. It is called “Metric Units with reference to Water, Sewage and related subjects”, and it reflects the impact that the British Standards Institution is making in the whole field of testing. The working party Report ought to be read in conjunction with the British Standards Institution booklet PD 5686, “The Use of SI Units”,* and with an article in “BSI News” for October, 1968, “Systdme lnternational d’Unit6s (SI)”.
